I have (been exonerated, been appreciated, been honored, learned so much, grown so much, been challenged, sweated so much, gained so much weight, aged so much, been betrayed, been ignored) while I have been with this organization.
I have come to think of you as (close friends, great associates, fellow hellraisers, my jailers)
We have been through many (challenges, golf games, Christmas parties) together and these have made us (closer, meaner, alcoholics, gamblers)
I recall when (our big merger happened, the dot com boom fell apart, the boss had an affair, I had an affair) and how we all (stuck together and got through it, worked it out, fell apart, started self-medicating, laughed til we ached)
When we successfully launched (the Apollo mission, the new car, the acquisition, the paper airplanes, the inflatable doll) it brought us (closer together, great bonuses, promotions, an audit by the IRS, jail time)
When I look back on my time with this organization it is with (great fondness, thoughts of horror, a dose of my anti-depressants)
Thank you to each of you for making my time here (so rewarding, a nightmare, a place to stay warm and dry, a refuge from my wife)
I am taking up (writing, golfing, drinking, wine, women and song, refuge in another country) in my retirement.
I wish you all (wonderful challenges and successes, happy memories, warts, webbed feet) Are you smiling? We hope so! Retirement is fun and rewarding.
